Non-articulated tiger-like mythical creature depicted in profile with a small trunk and tusks of an elephant and the horns and ears of an ox. The leather puppet is supported by a central bamboo string. Traces of red pigment remain on the surface of the puppet. The head of the figure is held high with open jaws and is depicted in a running and attacking posture. Thai art often features mythical creatures that combine elements of multiple animals. These animals are portrayed as living in the Himaphan forest, a place located below the heavens and invisible to the eyes of mortals. Two Thai mythical creatures feature the body of a lion and trunk of an elephant include the Tukka Tor and the Kochasri. Dimensions: Height: 28cm Width: 31.3cm
