Description

A Lion figure depicted in profile with head held high and open mouth in a fighting posture with human-like characteristics. The figure is bipedal and clothed but features lion-like head and tail with human-like arms and legs. One arm of the shadow puppet is articulated at the shoulder, elbow and wrist. The articulated arm is manipulated by a puppeteer via a bamboo rod attached by a knotted cord to the hand. The leather is thin and translucent goatskin. Mythical lions or Singha are common guardian figures at Thai temples, large buildings, and houses. Dimension: Height: 67.3 cm Width: 32.3cm Width including extended articulated arm: 49.1cm
